Wine Tasting Weekend – October 26, 2024

Our 3rd wine-tasting event was a HUGE success, and we are thrilled to announce the next event. Please join us on Saturday, October 26th, for a tasting of Eastern European wines (e.g. Croatia, Slovenia and Georgia) with dinner to follow. More info will be emailed to the RSVP list when we get a bit closer asking for dietary restrictions and offering final details. Please RSVP to Sarah Kotcher, at [email protected]. We are prepaying for the event this time. We will send out another email asking for that once you have RSVPd.

What to Bring:

• One bottle of Eastern European wine (red, pink, orange, or white) from Croatia, Slovenia, or Georgia, costing $15 or more. Couples may bring one bottle between them or more if they wish. We recommend checking out a wine shop in your area and talking to a salesperson. There are some really fun and unusual options out there. It would be great to have a broad selection of things to taste!
• 1 item to contribute to a charcuterie plate (salami, cheese, crackers, fruit, olives, etc.)
• Cash, check, or Zelle to pay at Heidelmann Lodge (You will pay for your stay at the Lodge upon checkout. The event itself will be prepaid

Cost:

$40 for the event including dinner
$18 Heidelmann Lodge & Nature Friends logo wine glass (or 2 for $30). This is part of the fundraiser. We sold out last time and have ordered more!
$25 for 14-year-olds and over for just the dinner
$15 under 14 for just dinner

There aren’t other organized activities happening that weekend (and it’s not a workday!), but if you want to get a group together for an activity with friends and other members, we encourage that! Get out there and hike, enjoy the sun on the deck, explore old town Truckee, or track down one of the hot springs in the area. Let’s enjoy the outdoors and each other’s company for a fun weekend in the mountains! There is also a comet coming through that we might be able to see in at night with the low light pollution. This could be really cool!

This event is a fundraiser for the Heidelmann Lodge, and we will aim to do a wine event there every few months. Please talk to people about this. Let’s generate buzz and get more people involved! We are capping the event to 50 people, so make sure you RSVP early!
