Presidents Weekend Wine Tasting

It’s winter, and the mountains are calling! Saturday, February 14th is President’s Day weekend AND Valentine’s Day at the Heidelmann Lodge, and we are hosting one of our now infamous wine tasting and dinner events! President’s Day weekend is one of the few members (and member’s guests) only weekends at Heidelmann, so let’s take advantage of our wonderful lodge together!

There will be group activities on Saturday that we encourage everyone to join. Member Andrew Bray has offered to lead a cross country ski group for an outing, and Sarah Kotcher will lead a snowshoeing group as well. This is all snow dependent of course! If there is no snow, we will hike and/or organize a group to go to the Sierraville Hot Springs – a very fun activity indeed!

FYI – there are a few snowshoe sets to borrow at the Lodge, but if you are really keen to participate, please bring your own cross country ski setup or your own snowshoes. If you don’t have a set, consider buying or renting from Sports Basement or REI as they both generally have reasonable prices.

The evening of Saturday, February 14th, we will host a wine tasting and dinner. Here are the details:

• Wine tasting theme is: Wines of South America: Argentina, Chile, Uruguay
• Wine tasting starts at 5:30pm
• Dinner will be served around 7pm
• Everyone participating in the wine tasting should bring a bottle of South American wine, white or red, that is valued at $15 or more
• Bring an item to add to a charcuterie and cheese spread to enjoy during the wine tasting

Cost for the event:

• Wine tasting + dinner for an adult: $35
• Dinner for an adult (18+): $25
• Dinner for a child (up to 17): $15

We are working on getting the SF board’s approval for this to count as a social event, if you are accompanied by one of your sponsors. Either way, prospective members are invited to join! Additionally, you’re welcome to spend the night even if your sponsor is not! Lodge guest rates will apply.
