SUMMARY:Trophy Race
DESCRIPTION:Our annual Trophy Ski Race will take place on March 14 this year at the usual location\, Donner Ski Ranch Chair 3. \nThe race track will be ready in the afternoon for practice runs (usually around 12pm) with the race beginning sometime around 1pm. A social\, communal dinner and awards ceremony will follow. \nWe hope to see you there!

SUMMARY:Presidents Weekend Wine Tasting
DESCRIPTION:It’s winter\, and the mountains are calling! Saturday\, February 14th is President’s Day weekend AND Valentine’s Day at the Heidelmann Lodge\, and we are hosting one of our now infamous wine tasting and dinner events! President’s Day weekend is one of the few members (and member’s guests) only weekends at Heidelmann\, so let’s take advantage of our wonderful lodge together! \nThere will be group activities on Saturday that we encourage everyone to join. Member Andrew Bray has offered to lead a cross country ski group for an outing\, and Sarah Kotcher will lead a snowshoeing group as well. This is all snow dependent of course! If there is no snow\, we will hike and/or organize a group to go to the Sierraville Hot Springs – a very fun activity indeed! \nFYI – there are a few snowshoe sets to borrow at the Lodge\, but if you are really keen to participate\, please bring your own cross country ski setup or your own snowshoes. If you don’t have a set\, consider buying or renting from Sports Basement or REI as they both generally have reasonable prices. \nThe evening of Saturday\, February 14th\, we will host a wine tasting and dinner. Here are the details: \n\nWine tasting theme is: Wines of South America: Argentina\, Chile\, Uruguay\nWine tasting starts at 5:30pm\nDinner will be served around 7pm\nEveryone participating in the wine tasting should bring a bottle of South American wine\, white or red\, that is valued at $15 or more\nBring an item to add to a charcuterie and cheese spread to enjoy during the wine tasting\n\nCost for the event: \n\nWine tasting + dinner for an adult: $35\nDinner for an adult (18+): $25\nDinner for a child (up to 17): $15\n\nWe are working on getting the SF board’s approval for this to count as a social event\, if you are accompanied by one of your sponsors. Either way\, prospective members are invited to join! Additionally\, you’re welcome to spend the night even if your sponsor is not! SUMMARY:September of Love (Plan B)
DESCRIPTION:The whole month of September we will be working on the lodge. During the mid-week\, we are planning on having teams of at least four workers. On weekends we are planning on teams of at least ten workers. The projects are rewarding\, needed\, and appreciated. There may be less work done on weekends. RSVPs are required to Marc (mpprimo@gmail.com) for your participation confirmation and specific planning details. \nKeep in Mind:\nWith the change to Plan B\, the Lodge will be open to visitors in September\, but there will be lots of daily early morning noise and lots of work going on. Visitors are warned about potential 6 am noise\, but early morning starts are sometimes better for the workers than in the sweltering afternoon heat. Noise starts at sunrise. And it may be loud\, especially under the Women’s dorm as that is where most of the woodpecker holes need to be repaired. \n\nProspective Members:\nLabor Day weekend only – Saturday participation counts as one workday credit for prospective members.\nOther Heidelmann workdays may count towards membership as well – pending board approval.

SUMMARY:Labor Day Weekend
DESCRIPTION:August 29\, Friday Night! Gather at 5 pm for TGIF. A good time to weigh in on how best to proceed with projects but mainly have a good\ntime.\nAugust 30\, Saturday Morning Work starts at the 9 am Muster. We have plenty of projects and enthusiastic project leaders looking for help. The Lodge will provide dinner on Saturday night\, followed by a sing-along in the living room in the evening.\nAugust 31\, Sunday Morning\, 9 am Town Hall meeting to update the crew on what has been accomplished and what is needed in the future. The Lodge will provide lunch on Sunday. An RSVP is appreciated for this event so that we can plan meals. Lots of different projects and yearly lodge maintenance tasks. Dinner is provided for Saturday and lunch on Sunday. You are on your own for Saturday breakfast and lunch\, Sunday breakfast and dinner. Normal lodging rates will apply.\n\nProspective members get one workday credit for Saturday participation. DESCRIPTION:July 26\nIt’s summer and the mountains are calling! We are hosting our annual Summitfest party at Heidelmann Lodge on July 26th weekend! \nWine Tasting & Dinner\nThis time we are going to host a blind red wine tasting event Saturday evening\, followed by a tasty dinner. The tasting will begin at 5:30 pm and dinner will be served around 7 pm. The wine tastings are really fun! There is a social fee of $35 that includes the dinner. Everyone participating in the wine tasting should also bring a bottle of red wine that is $15 or more. It can be anything that you choose. For kids 13 and under\, the cost of dinner is $15 and 14 and over is $25. The cost for the dinner is in addition to the normal Lodge rate. Perspective members are encouraged to attend. In addition to the wine tasting\, there will be organized hikes\, group swimming in Donner Lake\, and generally hanging out on the sunny and warm back deck.
